Angelina started her professional counseling career working in Equine Assisted Therapy and since 2017 has worked with Arizona’s Counseling & Psychological Services, Inc.(Formerly People Empowering People of AZ, Inc.). Angelina received a Bachelors of Science degree in Kinesiology from Arizona State University and a Masters degree in Professional Counseling from Grand Canyon University. Angelina has education and experience in working with people pursuing various therapeutic goals, including; healing from past trauma and abuse, improving interpersonal relationships, managing and overcoming challenges associated with; various mental and emotional health symptoms, disorder eating, substance abuse, chronic pain, grief, complications from other health challenges and most importantly, developing positive self efficacy. Angelina has experience in providing individual therapy, group counseling, couples counseling and family therapy and has skill in helping people with various learning styles and strengths.

Arin Garduno

I’m Arin, a Master of Social Work intern with a background in education and behavior intervention. I’m passionate about walking alongside kids and families as they navigate trauma, big emotions, and systems that aren’t always built with them in mind.I bring a trauma-informed, equity-centered lens to my work and believe that healing happens in relationship, through empathy, connection, and a little bit of humor.Outside of work, I love deep conversations, good coffee, and spending time with people who make me belly laugh.

Ashleigh Lange

Ashleigh Lange, LCSW, is an experienced Chief Clinical and Operations Officer with a demonstrated history of leading high-performing programs across inpatient and outpatient healthcare settings, as well as within child welfare systems. She brings deep expertise in behavioral health and a strong track record of driving clinical excellence, operational efficiency, and sustainable program growth.Ashleigh has worked extensively with geriatric, adult, and adolescent populations, with specialized experience in crisis intervention and the delivery of individual, family, and group therapy. Her professional background also includes significant contributions to child welfare and school-based mental health services, where she has led initiatives aimed at improving access, outcomes, and continuity of care.
In her executive leadership role, Ashleigh is known for integrating clinical best practices with strategic oversight, fostering collaborative environments, and implementing outcome-driven services that meet the evolving needs of diverse communities. She is committed to advancing systems of care that are both compassionate and accountable.
Ashleigh holds a Master of Social Work from the University of Missouri and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). She remains dedicated to strengthening communities through innovative leadership and high-quality behavioral health services.

Ashley Orozco

Ashley Orozco, LPC, is a Licensed Professional Counselor who provides counseling services to adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, substance use challenges, and severe mental illness. She earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Grand Canyon University and is fluent in both English and Spanish. She provides counseling services telephonically and via telemedicine. She is committed to providing culturally responsive care and creating a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard and empowered.

Ashley utilizes a Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) approach that incorporates mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. This approach helps clients develop practical coping skills, strengthen relationships, manage intense emotions, and build resilience through life’s challenges. She believes in meeting clients where they are and working collaboratively to support meaningful and lasting change.

Brenna Alexander

Brenna is a Clinical Supervisor with a Masters Degree in Professional Counseling from Grand Canyon University. Brenna has been a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2024, is certified in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR). Brenna also holds a license for substance abuse counseling with experience in SUD and SMI co-occurring disorders.

Brystal Riss

I am the new scheduler for ACPS and am very excited for this opportunity. I have 8 years experience in mental health facilities starting as a peer support and moving to case manager. I have a 20 year background in customer service. I would say my passion is helping others and offering a safe space. Outside of work I am a proud mother of a 21 year old daughter and now a pup mom to my dog Sakii. I love adventures and marking things off my bucket list.

Caitlyn is an Intake Coordinator at Arizona’s Counseling and Psychological Services, where she is dedicated to helping clients feel comfortable as they begin the counseling process. She is passionate about creating a positive experience and works closely with clients to complete intake appointments while answering any questions along the way. Caitlyn values kindness, empathy, and making the intake process feel as smooth and stress-free as possible. She strives to help clients feel heard, supported, and reminded that they are not alone. My name is Emma! I obtained both my Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees from Arizona State University. My experience has been working in a vast variety of disciplines including: inpatient psych, residential treatment, hospital settings and skilled nursing. I am the mother to a beautiful little girl who keeps me busy. I also enjoy staying active and spending time with my family.

Erika Venegas

Erika is an Intake Coordinator at Arizona’s Counseling and Psychological Services, where she facilitates the intake process for clients seeking counseling services. She oversees insurance verifications and processes referrals efficiently and in a timely manner. Erika is committed to providing compassionate support and ensuring clients receive their necessary intake documentation for consent and treatment. She finds fulfillment in helping others access the mental health care they deserve. In her personal time, Erika enjoys reading, creating art, and spending quality time with family.

Erin McGuire

I have worked in Behavioral Health since 2002, spanning many levels of care and a wide range of populations. I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Registered Play Therapist (RPT). My therapeutic approach is supportive, caring, creative, and grounded. I genuinely love meeting clients wherever they are and my greatest hope is to offer a safe and welcoming space to connect, heal and grow. Originally from Pennsylvania, I have called Arizona home for more than 15 years. When I am not in the office I enjoy camping and traveling with my dogs, Murphy and Riley. I’m endlessly curious, a little bit wanderlust-y, and happiest when I’m exploring somewhere new around the globe or losing myself in something creative!

Hayden is an Intake Coordinator at Arizona’s Counseling and Psychological Services (ACPS). With five years of experience in behavioral health, he is dedicated to helping clients take their first steps toward receiving supportive mental health services. In his role, Hayden collaborates with clinics and case managers to coordinate referrals, assess client needs, and guide individuals through the intake process to ensure a smooth and welcoming start to care. Hayden is passionate about creating a supportive and compassionate environment where clients feel comfortable beginning their mental health journey. Jennifer Rizzo

Jennifer works with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. She specializes in trauma therapy and is passionate about helping clients understand how their past experiences may be showing up in their present lives, including in their symptoms, relationships, coping patterns, and sense of self. She supports clients who are navigating PTSD, complex trauma, anxiety, depression, emotional dysregulation, grief, attachment wounds, relationship conflict, family stress, and major life transitions.

Jennifer takes a warm, trauma-informed, and client-centered approach to therapy. She believes healing begins when clients feel safe, supported, and truly understood. She works alongside each client at a pace that feels manageable, creating space for them to process painful experiences while also learning practical tools to feel more grounded and in control. Kinard Sproles

My name is Kinard Sproles, and I am completing my Master’s in counseling and preparing for my internship at ACPS. I work at Gellert Health as a health navigator, supporting clients in achieving their medical goals through motivational interviewing and helping them navigate the medical system. Prior to this, I worked at Terros Health, where I worked directly with probation and scheduled individuals for intake assessments, and learned about various resources for clients in the substance use field. As a future counselor, one of my primary goals is to empower individuals in their interpersonal relationships by applying attachment theory. I also have a passion for the outdoors and am always exploring new hobbies.

Michael Johnson

Michael (Mike) Johnson, is a licensed master social worker and counselor at ACPS Inc., residing in Phoenix. Mike provides in-person and telehealth counseling services to children, adults, and families, with a focus on serious mental illness (SMI), neurodivergence, LGBTQ+ identity, and multicultural lived experiences. He’s worked across community mental health, group homes, day programs, and schools, bringing a grounded, real-world approach into every session. Mike meets clients where they are, shows up non-judgmentally, and knows with certainty that clients are the experts of their own lives. He gets excited about strengths-based therapy, practices mindfulness he learned as a client in a behavioral group, and uses a trauma-informed, harm reduction approach. Mike tends to blend clinical modalities together to collaboratively outline treatment plans and support meeting each individual’s goals.

Beyond the therapy room, Mike serves as president of the board of the National Association of Social Workers Arizona Chapter. His leadership approach prioritizes transparency, accountability, and collaboration, creating space for honest disagreement and staying regulated through discomfort in service of better outcomes. He brings the same principles to his clinical work and to his role on the Arizona Division of Developmental Disabilities Independent Oversight Committee, where he advocates for human rights protections and improved service quality for individuals with developmental disabilities.

Dr. Nandini Ramakrishna

Dr. Nandini Ramakrishna is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a National Certified Counselor (NCC). Dr. Ramakrishna’s graduate education in the US encompasses the fields of linguistics, speech-language pathology, and counseling which taught her that language – the stories we tell ourselves about our lives and the world we live in – plays a central role in our well-being. Dr. Ramakrishna earned her master’s degree in counseling from Northwestern University, and her doctorate in counseling from Oregon State University. Dr. Ramakrishna’s therapeutic modalities include motivational interviewing, narrative therapy, CBT, DBT, and mindfulness. She has experience working with issues around self-esteem, depression, anxiety, anger, grief and loss, and adjustment issues. Dr. Ramakrishna’s professional memberships include the American Counseling Association, Association for Counselor Education and Supervision, and Association for Child and Adolescent Counseling.

His career is defined by a commitment to serving vulnerable populations—from those navigating substance recovery to seniors in assisted living—ensuring that high-quality, specialized care is accessible to those who need it most. With a background spanning neuropsychological assessments, addiction recovery, and trauma therapy, Dr. Olson specializes in building innovative programs that serve diverse communities.For over a decade, Dr. Olson has specialized in veteran advocacy and program development. As a veteran himself, Dr. Olson has worked on bridging the gap between government agencies and community-based mental health services for veterans and their families. He is a recognized leader in creating inclusive clinical programs, notably spearheading initiatives for LGBTQ veterans and establishing outreach networks for military families.

Currently, he is the CEO of Arizona’s Counseling & Psychological Services, INC. (ACPS, INC.). Before becoming the CEO of ACPS, INC., Dr. Olson worked as a therapist and a Clinical Director for over a decade. His years of experience in working with individuals, couples, families and administration have helped to guide the way in which the agency utilizes collaboration in order to create a successful outpatient clinic that cares not only about its staff, but the individuals, couples, and families that have entrusted the agency with providing services.

Teresa Scaggs, LPC, is a master-level Licensed Professional Counselor with more than 20 years of experience providing compassionate, evidence-based mental health services to diverse populations. Her clinical approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), modified Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Solution-Focused Therapy to support clients in developing practical coping strategies, emotional resilience, and meaningful personal growth. Vivamaria is a BHT Children’s Clinician I at Arizona’s Counseling & Psychological Services, Inc. Viva has over 13 years experience working with children and adolescents in the mental health field. Viva provides counseling to children and young adults teaching coping skills, using brief interventions, DBT skills and solution focused therapy.

Wendy Palmer

Wendy completed her Master’s Degree in Psychology at the University of Phoenix. She has over 16 years of experience starting her professional counseling career working in the domestic violence field and since 2018 has worked with Arizona’s Counseling & Psychological Services, Inc (Formerly People Empowering People of AZ, Inc.). Wendy has worked in a variety of settings including outpatient specialty clinics, crisis intervention, structured outpatient programs, court ordered treatment, non-profits, and private practice. She utilizes a variety of skills and techniques drawn from recognized therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused, DBT, Psycho-education, mindfulness and relaxation. Wendy believes in working in partnership with clients to utilize their strengths to help them sort out their challenges and achieve their goals. She also realizes the importance of identifying all aspects of an individual’s life that impact their well-being including their physical health, support systems (family, friends, etc.), work/school environment, and faith/spirituality in this process.
